Dark skies made the crowd of 18000 at R00k Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Åke Väisänen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alberto Mario Leyendeker and Ducu Militaru. R00kies had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Jochumsen - Hohenstock, Pinzan, Załoga - Strodl, Čerina, Forbirger, Catarecha, Thiede - Hofreiter, Brodziński.

Krummbein started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Vitezović - Abi, Dehmel, Irsigler, Lemmerer - Fischhaber, Jehmlich, Kalas, Sieve - Enthofer, Stegen.

R00kies could have put themselves ahead after 2 minutes but S. Hofreiter missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. After 3 minutes of play, H. Hohenstock gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. After 9 minutes, U. Pinzan put R00kies ahead 2 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. J. Forbirger of R00kies seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 3 - 0 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by K. Čerina. By now, the players in R00kies felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. R00kies's K. Čerina struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 4 - 0 after 13 minutes. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, J. Enthofer got himself booked. The manager of Krummbein was not happy. Z. Brodziński should probably have put his team up another goal after 17 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by M. Vitezović kept the visitors in the game. Halftime score was 4 - 0. R00kies claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 85 percent.

U. Pinzan increased the lead for R00kies to 5 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! Cheers filled the stadium as J. Catarecha broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 6 - 0 to R00kies. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. S. Hofreiter squirmed through their central defence after 81 minutes, increasing the lead to 7 - 0. 82 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as K. Čerina broke through, making the score 8 - 0 for R00kies. R00kies managed to extend their lead to 9 - 0 when Z. Brodziński cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Possession in this half belonged to R00kies, who controlled the ball 88 percent of the time.

J. Forbirger performed admirably for R00kies. J. Catarecha on the other hand, had a terrible day. Krummbein's top performer was clearly E. Sieve. M. Jehmlich was a disappointment, however. The match ends 9 - 0.
