Today, Emporia's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. Emporia took the lead 12 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. H. Lueg was the scorer. With 22 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, C. Figge needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. Krombacher's R. Leitol made an attempt at equalising 25 minutes into the match, coming in from the right, but the ball hit the post and the defence easily cleared the rebound. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave L. Freienstein from Krombacher a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 34 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Emporia's M. Bekdil went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention. The home crowd was not impressed when G. Emmerthal came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 35 minutes. Emporia were now up 0 - 2. Halftime score was 0 - 2. Emporia claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

A drive down the left side allowed H. Lueg to get in close and score another goal for Emporia after 49 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 3. Confident in their lead, Emporia's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Emporia came close to extending their lead as E. Markschies delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 55 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. What ever got into H. Hoelzl, the crowd mumbled, as he suddenly struck a cross pass through his own defence - ending up right in front of Emporia's G. Emmerthal, who easily put the ball away for 0 - 4 after 62 minutes. G. Emmerthal stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving Emporia the goal to make it 0 - 5. By then G. Emmerthal had scored three goals - a hat trick! With 77 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed A. Gavel of Emporia to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 6. Emporia's D. Widmann was shown a yellow card after 79 minutes for slicing down an opponent. With 80 minutes played, Emporia put themselves up 0 - 7 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was H. Lueg. This third goal completed a hattrick for H. Lueg. With 82 minutes played, R. Leitol of Krombacher fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Emporia enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.

Krombacher's top performer was clearly O. Erbacher. M. Kaser turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Emporia player was M. Bekdil. D. Widmann on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 7.
