Clouds darkened the skies at 1. FC Craftingen Arena as 4928 spectators turned up for the match. Rothmaler received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 23 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 3. The Oschatz fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. With 25 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed J. Eminger of Oschatz to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 4. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Oschatz lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. The home team's supporters got excited again when H. von Campenhausen broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 1 - 4. 1 - 4 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Oschatz, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

A drive down the left side allowed J. Sünnobend to get in close and score another goal for Oschatz after 50 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 5. 53 minutes had been played and the home team was awarded a penalty. The guests' keeper dived the right way, but K. Klausenburger was still able to reduce the score to 2 - 5. M. Ploetz tried to get a goal back for Craftingen but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move. After 79 minutes, Oschatz's B. Schwarzer burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 2 - 6. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Oschatz, with 54 percent of the ball.

Craftingen's top performer was clearly M. Ploetz. E. Gabelentz was a disappointment, however. Oschatz's best player was J. Eminger. J. Gößnitz turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 6.
