Mögelin 1 - 2 Youngsters
(384828789)

07-07-2012 19.05
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 5363 to
Video4web Arena.
Luciano Nunes was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Nic von Wartburg and
Filinto Amâncio.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Mögelin.
The following players took the field: Rittersporn - Zechmeister, Plater, Lauerich, Günzel - Bura, Hirn, Smotzer, Stüwes - Pleininger, Möwen.
Youngsters tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Starters: Bister - Kuenstler, Karnaus, Neiße, Leberle - Hofacker, Ramspeck, Kinzinger, Yüce - von Aulock, Ober-Westendorf.
With 24 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
T. Hirn needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed.
Against a lesser team, Youngsters could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 27 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save.
A. Plater of Mögelin received a yellow card after 28 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
With 29 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending.
T. Neiße put the ball away for 0 - 1.
The crowd was on its feet 43 minutes into the match, as Mögelin's
M. Stüwes found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
T. Hirn from Mögelin a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 43 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
K. Kinzinger of Youngsters had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game.
M. Weisshaupt came in to finish the match.
1 - 1 was the halftime score.
Youngsters claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.
E. Karnaus had a good opportunity to give Youngsters the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save.
72 minutes into the game,
R. Leberle had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide.
K. Yüce had a good try after 76 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide.
U. Hofacker came close to putting the visiting team one up 78 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but
J. Rittersporn managed to tip the ball to a corner.
Youngsters's
E. Karnaus got himself booked for a foul.
T. Smotzer was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so Mögelin's
T. Wieninger had to come off the bench.
87 minutes into the match, the visiting Youngsters made the score 1 - 2 after
M. Kuenstler executed a perfect free kick.
Possession in this half belonged to Mögelin, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
Most important Mögelin player was
M. Möwen.
J. Rittersporn was a disappointment, however.
Youngsters's best player was
M. Kuenstler.
On the other hand,
J. Bister's play was disheartening.
The match ends 1 - 2.
