Nosgoth tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.

Diabolico had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Lineup: Nederdahl - Démarez, Lorain, Mulligan - Michel, Foitek, Álvarez, Sandanavičius, Boyer - Fossati, Necula.
The strategy for Nosgoth was to use their ability to press.
Nosgoth's
K. Steidle left the field after 28 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
B. Manz.
Diabolico had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 29 minutes in when
S. Necula came up alone against
B. Manz who managed a block.
At this time in the match, Nosgoth were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game.
Nosgoth's
J. Runturambi refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 32 minutes.
Diabolico's
M. Fossati could have put the guests one up after 33 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but
B. Manz was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose.
After 39 minutes,
T. Zschokke sent the corner kick right to
N. Delande who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 0!

S. Necula struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right.

M. Maguire, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off.
