47217 punters turned up at Kickers Le Mont Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Michi Kölle was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Abram Sulaev and Appie Hofman. Kickers decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Team. Starters: Schapil - Huyzentruyt, Staud, Günyeli - Dilo, Rohrs, Stuffer, Schink, Signoretta - Talbot, Briellmann.

Kickers used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. 2 minutes into the game, C. Talbot almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 17 minutes, Kickers did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, W. Roos was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 1 - 0. The visitors almost came back with an equaliser 24 minutes into the match after a good combination down the middle, but when L. Schink tried to finish the attack, he couldn't deliver the shot hard enough to seriously challenge the keeper. Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as Team's G. Dilo put the ball in the onion bag after 35 minutes to make it 1 - 1. A. Signoretta's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert C. Talbot was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for Team. 1 - 2. Team came close to extending their lead as K. Briellmann delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 40 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. F. Huyzentruyt of Team was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. Possession was split evenly between the teams.

There was concern in the stands when, at the 53 minute mark, Team's D. Rohrs hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. The Kickers equaliser came after 65 minutes when A. Santoyo floated in a free kick making the score 2 - 2. Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.

C. Évesque performed admirably for Kickers. A. Santoyo on the other hand, had a terrible day. Team's top performer was clearly K. Briellmann. G. Dilo was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 2.
