Clear skies welcomed the 31034 spectators who had made their way to Wolkenbank. Georg Kitsing was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Hernán Jorge Alifano and Dallas Moore. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for SDW. SDW had to make a substitution after 7 minutes. A. Sánchez Zarzosa limped off the field and was replaced by R. Wiessner. The visiting C. Beloeil was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 9 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. What was P. Muggiasca thinking? That's what everyone wondered when, for no apparent reason, he shot a cross pass over his own penalty area, giving M. Ysenburg an extra chance, but unfortunately for SDW, he didn't get the shot right. C. Beloeil wanted to play on, but the Churer coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 40 minutes into the game by A. Viesulis. Halftime score was 0 - 1. Churer had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

The home crowd cheered when, after 49 minutes, A. Viesulis's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. You could feel the tension in the crowd after the referee awarded the home side a penalty kick and a chance to equalise. Sadly, P. Bessa's shot sailed wide of the goal. 72 minutes into the game, L. Gorrieri had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came J. Carimoney. 75 minutes into the match, W. Glättli came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. O. Lennerhagen of SDW seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by P. Bessa. D. Dufosse had a good try after 84 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. Churer claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

SDW's top performer was clearly L. Echebarri. On the other hand, R. Wiessner's play was disheartening. E. Malcuit performed admirably for Churer. P. Muggiasca turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
