previous 3/4 next 1/4  FF 4 - 2 Dynamo (384884191)

Due to an all-day shower, 46088 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Fast Foot Arena. Jeremy Kuratle was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Aage Andersen and Antoine van Mierlo. FF tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Nury - Panconesi, Tappin, Mumenthaler - Pani, Flores, Csákó, Voumard, Matsson - Cinque, Akagündüz.

Dynamo started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Stanitz - Cuche, Ballmann, Villa - Spitler, Rußwurm, Delclaux, Stocco, Godin - Torresan, Leu.

They were singing the praises of R. Voumard 15 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to FF. Cheers filled the stadium as A. Flores broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to FF. FF's R. Voumard increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 25 minutes. By now, the players in FF felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. A well placed corner kick from J. Matsson was followed by A. Akagündüz's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for FF, the score now 4 - 0. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like A. Flores. Y. Rußwurm showed why he is feared on the counterattack, breaking through in the middle and scoring for Dynamo after 43 minutes to make the score 4 - 1. 4 - 1 was the score after the first half. FF had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.

Ater 56 minutes B. Delclaux seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored for Dynamo making it 4 - 2. A. Flores unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. Coming in on the left, G. Torresan did everything right to get a goal for Dynamo after 72 minutes, but his finishing shot was stabbed clear by the keeper. Possession in this half belonged to FF, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

FF's best player was L. Cinque. C. Mumenthaler turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Dynamo player was G. Torresan. However, J. Cuche made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 2.
