previous 8/10 next 10/10  Münchenstein 1 - 2 Maltesers (384884238)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 32253 to Arena auf der Au. David Tirado was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Manuel Woerner and Ricardo Igreja. Münchenstein started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. The following players took the field: Marcon - Çebiç, Tonti, Giulianelli - Merkler, Brasser, Crash, Weidkuhn - Jacquat, Rehdanz, Hockenheim.

Maltesers had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation. The following players had been chosen: Shevlyakov - Grießl, Favre, Lebarten, Vişan, Bubnowicz - Radu, Panzenböck, Santa María, Bordron - Leisibach.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Maltesers. C. Brasser got left behind when Maltesers's I. Radu made a sudden run forward after 2 minutes, finishing off with a neat strike. 0 - 1! G. Lebarten received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 13 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Maltesers fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Maltesers's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 16 minutes gone, but R. Leisibach's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. After 18 minutes Maltesers's G. Lebarten limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Münchenstein, with 59 percent of the ball.

There was concern in the stands when, at the 54 minute mark, Münchenstein's H. Rehdanz hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. 60 minutes into the game Münchenstein broke through on the left wing and S. Çebiç managed to reduce the lead to 1 - 2. Münchenstein's C. Weidkuhn left the field after 62 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was J. Larsson. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Maltesers coach let J. Fajardo replace D. Santa María after 78 minutes. The coach of Maltesers was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 84 minutes, G. Kaltenböck came on for I. Radu. R. Leisibach left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 86 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. G. Soffritti was the replacement. Possession in this half belonged to Münchenstein, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

Münchenstein's top performer was clearly G. Jacquat. J. Larsson on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Maltesers player was G. Soffritti. W. Bubnowicz turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
