Dark skies made the crowd of 32068 at Kolosseum a little nervous, but the rain held off. Mikael Tuvmar was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Matthias Gammelgard and Victor Vila. A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for pfuscht. The following players had been chosen: de Diesbach - Lufkin, Seckinger, Spillmann - Giacomelli, Zipkes, Menges, Zöbeli - Ruppli, Blake, Buchwiser.

RABBITS had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation. Lineup: Erzberger - Melivilu, Lagreca, Langenegger, Lanini, Denisiuk - Wanke, Maass, Fafara - Lupo, Merton.

After 4 minutes, pfuscht sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached O. Blake, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 1 - 0. T. Zipkes could have increased the lead after 23 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave P. Lagreca from RABBITS a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 33 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A loud groan was heard from the fans of pfuscht, as V. de Diesbach left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. S. Roca took his place on the field. A late sliding challenge from P. Lagreca was deemed to be his second yellow card offence by the referee, resulting in him being sent off, and RABBITS left a man down. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, O. Blake got himself booked. The manager of pfuscht was not happy. A cross coming in on the right hand side left R. Lupo alone in front of the goal after 40 minutes but his shot was woeful. With 42 minutes played, pfuscht's E. Zöbeli almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Halftime score was 1 - 0. pfuscht claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

pfuscht's O. Blake increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 50 minutes. F. Ruppli should probably have put his team up another goal after 73 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by M. Erzberger kept the visitors in the game. The pfuscht players could smell victory in the air. T. Menges wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for M. Bollard after 77 minutes. When T. Seckinger was badly injured by a couple of strong tackles after 79 minutes, pfuscht fans were unhappy to discover that it was not possible to make a substitution. Possession in this half belonged to pfuscht, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.

F. Ruppli performed admirably for pfuscht. S. Roca turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important RABBITS player was M. Erzberger. However, J. Melivilu made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 0.
