Niehof almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert J. Ndidi blocked it to keep the score level. Discord pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. Betis took the lead 35 minutes in, as G. De Coensel broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. Halftime score was 1 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Betis, who controlled the ball 68 percent of the time.

A. Onuktay increased the lead for Betis to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! By now, the players in Betis felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. M. Niehof could have increased the lead after 56 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Good work by the Discord defensive line after 57 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found P. Sulistyo alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. The coach of Betis was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 65 minutes, L. Vãleanu came on for G. De Coensel. T. von Schrottenberg left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 70 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. G. Illovszky was the replacement. Discord needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 75 minutes J. Ndidi made way for 钱. 昕 (Xin). A free kick just outside of the visitors' penalty area after 76 minutes could have resulted in another goal, but 钱. 昕 (Xin) got a hand out and tipped the ball over the bar. Betis increased the lead as L. Vãleanu struck to make the score 3 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. A. Giaccio wanted to play on, but the Betis coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 81 minutes into the game by S. Trandafir. With 85 minutes played, S. Gottschalk could have brought this one home for Betis as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. Betis had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.
