(384892831)

25-08-2012 19.15
41661 spectators arrived at
USG-Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
José Constante was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Marceli Buczkowski and
Twan Schieveld.
All of
Zürich was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for BUFC.
The following players took the field: Trenor - Stošić, Begly, Jacquet, Hauter - Kjeldsen, Kellerhals, Toda, Endres - Wastl, Sanmartin.
Mönchaltorf tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
They fielded: Vătafu - Smed, Anillo - Blecher, Prone, Lónyay, Carrera, Zermatten - Rousseau, Mirarchi, Ehling.
Mönchaltorf tried to focus their attacks down the middle.
14 minutes into the game,
E. Anillo had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide.
After 20 minutes, BUFC's
A. Begly fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
J. Zermatten got himself booked. The manager of Mönchaltorf was not happy.
G. Hauter gave BUFC the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0
Cheers filled the stadium as
R. Wastl broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to BUFC.
It was 2 - 0 at the break.
Mönchaltorf claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
BUFC solidified their lead at the 47 minute mark, as
G. Sanmartin dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of BUFC lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
Mönchaltorf had a fair chance to reply after 66 minutes due to some fine moves down the left, but in the end
T. Blecher was slow to keep up with the play and was unable to make it into the penalty box to apply a finish.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as BUFC scored another to make it 4 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
G. Hauter after 70 minutes.
J. Stošić's lack of experience almost gave Mönchaltorf a goal after 71 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in BUFC's
R. Wastl increasing the lead to 5 - 0.
With 80 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, Mönchaltorf showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 5 - 1 when
R. Ehling got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
L. Kellerhals from BUFC a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 82 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Mönchaltorf, with 55 percent of the ball.
The most dominating BUFC player was without a doubt
G. Sanmartin.
J. Stošić on the other hand, had a terrible day.
R. Ehling performed admirably for Mönchaltorf.
F. Smed turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 5 - 1.
