previous 6/10 next 8/10  Breganzona 2 - 2 Siegerstrasse (384892868)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 25928 at Al Pradello today. Moreno Schulz was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Claude Anderson and Raimonds Juršēvičs. Breganzona had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Geadas - Di Dato, Riannetti, Hristescu - Kleibl, Caron, Ignácz, Zygart, Mikola - Di Pierdomenico, Konopka.

Siegerstrasse decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. They fielded: Rescio - Stegmeier, Binkerhoff, Guillet - Eliasen, Otsuka, Werthemann, Ibarria, Oosterveld - Bladmar, Floerkemeier.

Breganzona saw most attack opportunities on the wings. The referee signaled a penalty for the home side after 20 minutes, amid vocal protests from the visitors. Breganzona fans erupted in celebration as A. Ignácz rifled the ball into the the top corner. 1 - 0! The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 23 minutes, G. Binkerhoff broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper. I. Geadas made a great block, though. A cross coming in on the right hand side left J. Floerkemeier alone in front of the goal after 24 minutes but his shot was woeful. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Breganzona, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

The visitors didn't give in and, after 54 minutes, I. Oosterveld got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 1 - 1. G. Guénot was called on to replace Breganzona's E. Riannetti after 74 minutes following a nasty collision. P. Caron became the new Breganzona captain. The terraces were silenced after 80 minutes when Siegerstrasse's J. Floerkemeier put the guests ahead 1 - 2, following an attack on the right. The crowd roared in delight as G. Guénot finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Breganzona 82 minutes into the match. 2 - 2. 83 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Breganzona to take the lead after a good cross from the right found L. Konopka alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Breganzona, with 58 percent of the ball.

Breganzona's top performer was clearly K. Zygart. G. Guénot on the other hand, had a terrible day. Siegerstrasse's best player was J. Bladmar. However, G. Stegmeier made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 2.
