Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 36404 at Uff em Galgehügel today. Xiang King Li was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gerard Osterwalder and Cornel Riccio. A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Cubana. They fielded: Buschauer - Neves, Kosicki, Kopal, Burkart - Seewer, Seeholzer, Sarrats, Marotta, Lesi - Gobbo.

Treiten started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Pérez - Vincze-Nagy, Herpers, Perämäki - Lapko, Nielsen, Beaz, 丹利 (Danli), Karanka - Pollarinen, Di Biase.

After 5 minutes, Treiten raised their score by one when M. Lapko's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by A. Pollarinen. 0 - 1. 10 minutes into the game, O. Seewer came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. No matter how hard he tried, H. Lesi just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 26 minutes. With 27 minutes played, Cubana's L. Sarrats found an opening in the visitors' left side defence, but his shot was handled easily by the keeper. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Cubana had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

Due to some great work on the right wing Cubana's B. Marotta was able to even the score after 57 minutes to make the score 1 - 1. As the 74 minute mark approached, the Cubana coach decided it was time for a substitution. O. Seewer reluctantly made way for A. Stocker on the pitch. 75 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Cubana substitution. N. Burgermeister came on for H. Lesi. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 80 minutes into the match, and M. Lapko wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 1 - 2 for the visitors. 81 minutes into the match, G. Di Biase came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. The bench was restless, and with 85 minutes passed Cubana's coach gave T. Cousin the opportunity the player had been hoping for. B. Marotta reluctantly left the field. Unfortunately for Cubana, L. Buschauer suffered a concussion after 85 minutes and had to be taken for tests. The coach had his head in his hands after realising he could not send a replacement onto the pitch, and the team had to continue a man short. A field player had to replace the goalkeeper, and this difficult task fell to A. Stocker . Treiten enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

Most important Cubana player was N. Burgermeister. A. Stocker was a disappointment, however. P. Pérez performed admirably for Treiten. T. Herpers turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
