It had rained all day, but 20382 hardy fans still made it out to Semir Tuce Memorial Dome. Toby Roithmeier was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jean-Yves Redon and Roland Moković. Rivaben, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. L. Eckhoff came close to levelling the score 35 minutes into the game, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave J. das Dores from Lions a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 37 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! L. Eckhoff tied the game at 1 - 1 after 39 minutes, when he converted an incredible pass from the right. Lions took the lead 41 minutes into the game, making the score 1 - 2 after some elegant movement down the middle. F. Burger was the scorer. When J. das Dores made yet another studs-first tackle after 42 minutes, the referee was obliged to book the Lions player for the second time, sending him off the pitch. Due to a severely mistimed tackle, L. Loichot of Fcl1901 spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. P. Daher didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. Some fine movement on the left led to a Lions goal after 44 minutes, making it 1 - 3. K. Hugelshofer was noted down as the scorer. The players of Lions now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Lions, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

After 52 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed T. Häggbrant to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 4. After the ball was lifted in from the left, L. Eckhoff was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 59 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. 60 minutes in, Lions's C. Franssens received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. After 73 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for K. Hugelshofer who increased Lions's lead to 1 - 5. Lions increased their lead after 76 minutes when F. Burger broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 6, much to the home crowd's dismay. The home crowd cheered when, after 79 minutes, T. Häggbrant's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. Lions claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.

Most important Fcl1901 player was T. Oland. However, A. Emídio made a disastrous appearance. Lions's top performer was clearly T. Häggbrant. J. Baumlin on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 6.
