(384901871)

30-06-2012 19.15
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 32413 to
Papi Yapi Arena.
Bernhardt Siegboot was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Heine Götterup and
Rafael Ángel Fallas.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for BSCB.
They fielded: Lanhoso - Paul, Michel, Calotă, Patt - Huibregtse, Wolfer, Zistler, Vernet - Welzel, Cristescu.
D's Army started off with a 2-5-3 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Fleischhacker - Hildenbrand, Koroheke - Zanchi, Bazin, Jolidon, Ilmari, Wahlen-Jürgaß - Sedláček, Sijbers, Welman.
12 minutes into the match, D's Army nearly took the lead, as
A. Sijbers broke through on the right.
J. Lanhoso made the save, however.
The referee showed D's Army's
E. Ilmari the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
V. Paul, but the BSCB player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
S. Huibregtse of BSCB was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
After 28 minutes,
M. Vernet sent the corner kick right to
S. Calotă who headed it sharply past the keeper. 2 - 0!
34 minutes into the match, D's Army replied and reduced the lead to 2 - 1.
R. Welman scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left.
D's Army's
R. Welman got himself booked for a foul.
Halftime score was 2 - 1.
Possession in this half belonged to D's Army, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.
After 53 minutes, D's Army switched
E. Hildenbrand with
A. Dyadin, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
V. Paul increased the lead for BSCB to 3 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
The BSCB free kick 70 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
E. Michel, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 4 - 1!
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
P. Jolidon from D's Army a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 77 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
After 84 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
S. Huibregtse might have resulted in another goal for BSCB. However,
M. Fleischhacker made a spectacular save.
D's Army needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 85 minutes
P. Jolidon made way for
P. Kristiansen.
J. Lanhoso made a brilliant save 85 minutes into the match, blocking a rocket of a shot from
R. Zanchi on the right hand side.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, D's Army's
K. Sedláček was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 87 minutes.
P. Gambino was given a chance to change things around.
D's Army enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.
The most dominating BSCB player was without a doubt
T. Welzel.
On the other hand,
V. Paul's play was disheartening.
D's Army's top performer was clearly
A. Sijbers.
P. Gambino turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 4 - 1.
