Totto 5 - 1 Porcupine
(384915480)

07-07-2012 19.15
The 25556 fans in attendance at
FC Totto Arena were roasting in the hot sun.
Mario Torrero was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jonas Herndon and
Rudolf Magyar.
Totto decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Rotzer - Moreau, Purice, Rokegem - Viault, Medeot, Pilorget, Herschberger, Kopsakangas - Rongen, Barkov.
Porcupine started off with a 4-3-3 lineup.
Lineup: Ulmer - Guiducci, Cherbonnier, Diller, José - Perraut, Moed, Ovyn - Abed-Hossein, Brancato, Ziegltrum.
C. José's lack of experience almost gave Totto a goal after 6 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms.
Totto's
J. Viault was shown a yellow card after 12 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Totto broke through on the left 18 minutes into the game, with
P. Rokegem firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead.
With 22 minutes played,
D. Pilorget could have brought this one home for Totto as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Totto tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
P. Rokegem slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 2 - 0, 23 minutes into the game.
Confident in their lead, Totto's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 37 minutes, Totto did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
C. Medeot was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 3 - 0.
Porcupine's
I. Guiducci got himself booked for a foul.
In a fantastic display of determination, Totto's
D. Purice forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down.
The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0.
Totto had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.
After 52 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
D. Purice gave the Totto supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 0.
The sunny day didn't make things easy for
D. Purice who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch.
With 63 minutes played, Totto's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
C. Medeot he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 5 - 0.
A counterattack by Porcupine after 66 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but
S. Ovyn, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off.
With 70 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, Porcupine showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 5 - 1 when
A. Brancato got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal.
The Totto players could smell victory in the air.
M. Moreau wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
N. Axeitos after 75 minutes.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Totto, with 65 percent of the ball.
C. Medeot performed admirably for Totto.
On the other hand,
N. Axeitos's play was disheartening.
Porcupine's best player was
A. Brancato.
E. Ulmer was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 5 - 1.
