Drüeggli 1 - 1 Säuliamt
(384920072)

23-06-2012 19.15
Due to an all-day shower, 22095 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
Arena Drüeggli.
David Niklasson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Gianni Ruberto and
Manuele Gavanelli.
Drüeggli had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Lineup: Peertz - Reber, Allegrini, Frias - Di Donato, Rubys, Sumara, Ehnsten, Duhamel - Scolozzi, Jedlička.
Säuliamt started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Albersen - Molinari, MacCrie, Morgansson - Butko, Montagrin, Hoffarth, Gunzburg, Cornic - Boulet, Gomes.
Pressing was the tactic of the day for Säuliamt.
Drüeggli had a good opportunity to take the lead as
S. Reber came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of
J. Albersen.
With clinical precision, the cross from winger
L. Butko found its way to
V. Gomes's head, and a screaming header gave Säuliamt the goal after 24 minutes played. 0 - 1
29 minutes in, and Drüeggli were able to score the equalising goal to make it 1 - 1 when
A. Rubys picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper.
Halftime score was 1 - 1.
Possession in this half belonged to Drüeggli, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.
M. Jedlička was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions.
The pressing tactics used by Säuliamt were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times.
B. Alinari was called on to replace Drüeggli's
I. Frias after 66 minutes following a nasty collision.
After a fine move down the middle
M. Jedlička nearly gave the home side a goal after 68 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
Drüeggli created a good opportunity to score 81 minutes into the match when
W. Sumara's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball.
Drüeggli's
S. Scolozzi tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders.
Drüeggli enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.
Drüeggli's top performer was clearly
H. Ehnsten.
On the other hand,
B. Alinari's play was disheartening.
Säuliamt's best player was
A. Hoffarth.
However,
J. Albersen made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 1.
