26873 spectators arrived at Rigi Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. 侯 (Hou) 勇宾 (Yongbin) was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Harm Verdoorn and Massimiliano Aspè. Echo decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Feijoo - Katsampas, Klader, Feuz - Bianco, Maat, Vahip, Óttarsson, Blagoev - Bonneville, Kötzting.

Kobi started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Vargas Rivera - Di Salvo, Toggenburger, Laithier - Edder, Liechty, Hüni, Ottiger, Wehrli - Rubio, Naumann.

It was an obvious ambition of Echo to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Kobi's N. Ottiger gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 13 minutes with a superb strike from the right. Proving his experience, H. Naumann scored 0 - 2 for Kobi after putting some pressure on the opposing defence at a critical moment. Confident in their lead, Kobi's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. D. Bonneville almost reduced the deficit, having drawn the entire left side defence away, but the shot went straight into the arms of the goalkeeper. Kobi had to make a substitution after 40 minutes. D. Edder limped off the field and was replaced by R. Friedmann. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Kobi claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

Echo's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 47 minutes into the match as D. Bianco ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 1 - 2. Echo's D. Bianco was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 50 minutes. Kobi came close to extending their lead as M. Liechty delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 64 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. With 65 minutes gone, C. Kötzting suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by Echo caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring. Kobi enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

C. Kötzting performed admirably for Echo. J. Feijoo turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Kobi player was E. Toggenburger. R. Friedmann on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 2.
