Schutti 2 - 1 Oberhasli
(384939423)

25-08-2012 19.15
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 43626 that came out to
New Swiss Arena.
Paul Hoopman was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Donny Dopfer and
Evgeny Matora.
Schutti started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
They fielded: Guthauser - Lefebvre, Falling, Godins - Rozhentsov, Roboz, Gehriger, Griff, Mirabel - Tornero, Carlsson.
Oberhasli decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Flütsch - Anhorn, Pardo García, Kiiskinen - Hüttlinger, Codrescu, Monis, Tel, Ozoliņš - Buur, Wels.
The wings were the focus of most of Schutti's attacks today.
The strategy for Oberhasli was to use their ability to press.
Oberhasli pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times.
E. Mirabel caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 27 minutes. This gave Schutti the 1 - 0 lead.
Oberhasli made it 1 - 1 as
C. Anhorn got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to
R. Wels who whipped a low drive in off the far post.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
C. Anhorn from Oberhasli a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 32 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Schutti had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead.
36 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Schutti to take the lead after a good cross from the right found
P. Tornero alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post.
Oberhasli's talent at pressing frustrated the spectators as the game became a dire midfield struggle.
Oberhasli's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1.
Schutti enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.
They were singing the praises of
P. Tornero 53 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to Schutti.
Schutti's
V. Rozhentsov had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 67 minutes having been played.
F. Baldessarini was the replacement.
The Schutti players could smell victory in the air.
P. Tornero wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
C. Monterde after 75 minutes.
The sunny day didn't make things easy for
J. Tel who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch.
A great save by keeper
C. Flütsch after 76 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
E. Lefebvre struck from the left with a real cannonball.
The Schutti coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 80 minutes into the game.
In the lead, Schutti adjusted their style of play with 80 minutes gone.
84 minutes in, Oberhasli's
J. Tel received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Schutti claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.
Schutti's top performer was clearly
D. Roboz.
On the other hand,
F. Baldessarini's play was disheartening.
Oberhasli's best player was
F. Codrescu.
K. Buur was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 2 - 1.
