The 29593 spectators at Wiggis Park were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Volker Zarins was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Dragos Barbu and Arjan Sever. It was an obvious ambition of Goonys to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, T. Englund got himself booked. The manager of Goonys was not happy. After 20 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Netstal found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. J. Viczián looked great 29 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors' R. Szili. 31 minutes into the game, Netstal seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate level of organisation. It was obvious that Goonys had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. The referee showed Goonys's M. Salati the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 39 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from M. Letschert, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. The visitors' equaliser seemed sure to come after 41 minutes, following a one on one situation around the left hand side of the goal area, but J. Viczián got the best of it, blocking the shot from M. Salati. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why C. Gurgel found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. Netstal put themselves up 2 - 0 when M. Blacha broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. Goonys claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Netstal was able to get his message across, and raised Netstal's organisation to solid. The fierce heat made it important to save breath, and after a few swift runs H. Frei found it hard to get back into position. Netstal put in a good effort on the right, but H. Frei saw his volley fly wide of the mark 55 minutes into the game. 56 minutes in, Netstal appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only passable. A bit later, Goonys's M. Salati easily reduced the lead to 2 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. Netstal were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 74 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by H. Frei. 3 - 1 for the home side. By now, the players in Netstal felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Goonys's E. Duarte was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 76 minutes. After 77 minutes, T. Englund chose the right corner while taking his penalty, humiliating the home keeper, who dived in the wrong direction. The goal reduced the home lead to 3 - 2. Goonys had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.

J. Siewert performed admirably for Netstal. H. Frei turned in a dismal performance, however. Goonys's best player was J. Huismann. However, V. Šulčinskas made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 2.
