A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 27939 to Via del Mare. Tódor Harkai was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Niculae Negoitã and Daniel Rares. Ultras clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why L. Adami found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. Ultras created a good opportunity to score 33 minutes into the match when L. Behrman's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, A. Bornstaedt scored for Ultras putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 39 minutes. 40 minutes into the game, Ultras had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to passable. 42 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 1 - 1 as O. Martin struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right. Ultras had to make a substitution after 43 minutes. T. Shihrur limped off the field and was replaced by J. Disler. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Ultras, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

During the break, Ultras's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to solid organisation. Making his way up the middle 57 minutes into the match, G. Biegger almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert L. Maupin blocked it to keep the score level. Ultras's M. Cronén tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. K. Leijoner found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. GCZ had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

Most important Ultras player was A. Bornstaedt. J. Disler on the other hand, had a terrible day. GCZ's best player was C. Gertig. L. Maupin was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
