Onix could have put themselves ahead after 9 minutes but D. Chapuisat missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. Onix's P. Carniani tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. RetroLetzigrundKick had to make a substitution after 31 minutes. N. Marassi limped off the field and was replaced by A. Smoliński. The sun seemed to put A. Smoliński in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long. Many thought H. Keller ought to have been awarded a penalty 42 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around N. Galaktopoulos after a determined run through the middle. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, T. Voisard got himself booked. The manager of Onix was not happy. The referee signaled a penalty for the home side after 44 minutes, amid vocal protests from the visitors. Onix fans erupted in celebration as H. Keller rifled the ball into the the top corner. 1 - 0! 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Onix enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

After 63 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by V. Pupi might have resulted in another goal for Onix. However, N. Galaktopoulos made a spectacular save. D. Chapuisat of Onix was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. G. Schweinegger left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 73 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. B. Douroux was the replacement. R. Kohl could have increased the lead after 77 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. After 78 minutes, Onix's H. Keller found the back of the goal with a beautiful free kick. 2 - 0. Onix's V. Pupi increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 83 minutes. By now, the players in Onix felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. R. Caulet of Onix received a yellow card after 85 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Onix had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

The most dominating Onix player was without a doubt D. Chapuisat. However, V. Pupi made a disastrous appearance. RetroLetzigrundKick's best player was P. Gac. J. Grunddahl on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 0.
