13417 fans braved the pouring rain at A.C.11 Arena. Alfred Šabata was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Andrew Wardlaw and Bob Garner. SiDi had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Korsgaard - van Eijsden, Queffelec, Indriksons, Guillet - Diczkó, Ben Khliffa, Raduszewski, Uhlir - Rossjö, Moreau.

Cazzupizzu decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. Starters: Tóth - Wolfger, Jelnikar, Papp, Hurtado Amezaga - Severin, Babisch, Calixto, Sellmeier - Furnică, Paár.

SiDi were relying on their ability to counter-attack. Today, Cazzupizzu's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. The game was characterised by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but H. Sellmeier showed great heart and had a good game. Players in Cazzupizzu heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. 20 minutes into the game, M. Severin had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. 21 minutes into the game SiDi managed a counterattack, but E. Indriksons took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. Cazzupizzu's P. Hurtado Amezaga got himself booked for a foul. J. Raduszewski was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so SiDi's T. Hämmerli had to come off the bench. A. Diczkó became the new SiDi captain. M. Severin had a good try after 29 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. Cazzupizzu took the lead after M. Severin curved a free kick into the net. 0 - 1 T. Furnică hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving Cazzupizzu's H. Sellmeier an easy chance to knock it in for 0 - 2. Confident in their lead, Cazzupizzu's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. SiDi's S. van Eijsden was shown a yellow card after 37 minutes for slicing down an opponent. J. Kociuba was called on to replace SiDi's A. Diczkó after 39 minutes following a nasty collision. The SiDi captaincy was handed to M. Uhlir. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Cazzupizzu had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

After 57 minutes, SiDi's M. Ben Khliffa fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! H. Sellmeier wanted to play on, but the Cazzupizzu coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 60 minutes into the game by G. Russett. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Cazzupizzu coach let M. van Anraat replace R. Calixto after 60 minutes. The coach of Cazzupizzu was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 65 minutes, K. Matyhila came on for B. Paár. Cazzupizzu bypassed the midfield with their counterattack, leading to a free kick goal by M. Severin for 0 - 3. Cazzupizzu came close to extending their lead as P. Hurtado Amezaga delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 80 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. L. Guillet was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Cazzupizzu, with 63 percent of the ball.

SiDi's best player was D. Rossjö. T. Hämmerli turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Cazzupizzu player was without a doubt K. Matyhila. T. Wolfger was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 3.
