(385002930)

25-08-2012 17.00
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 19403 to
Star Place.
Henric T. Hartman was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Silvio Gerželj and
José Colmenarejo.
Stars tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Devin - Stegerwald, Meiser, von Roden - Xhavara, Gemberling, Hlivák, Dormi, Talas - Ifrid, Badale.
Yanico decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Holderbaum - Levine, Di Pietrantonio, Paquet - Voss, Bridonneau, Ambauen, Kefalas, Chanal - Bigler, Melis.
Yanico saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
Stars's
R. Hlivák lived up to his reputation for finding unexpected ways to get the ball in the net when he sent a nifty little pass over to
T. Xhavara who finished for 1 - 0 with 26 minutes of the match played.
The visitors refused to give in and, after 27 minutes,
V. Ambauen evened things up as he finished off a perfect pass from the right. 1 - 1
Yanico had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead.
This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when
O. Bridonneau slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against
A. Devin, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes.
Slack defending gave Stars a chance to take the lead with 35 minutes played, but
T. Xhavara's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition.
36 minutes into the game,
I. Bigler almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
With 39 minutes played,
V. Paquet of Yanico fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1.
Yanico had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.
After 70 minutes Yanico's
A. Kefalas contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
72 minutes into the game, Stars's
R. Hlivák surprised the visitors with a raking cross-field pass to
L. Talas who easily found the back of the net, making the score 2 - 1.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Stars scored another to make it 3 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
M. von Roden after 76 minutes.
After 77 minutes, Stars raised their score by one when
L. Talas's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by
V. Badale. 4 - 1.
79 minutes in, an amazing pass from the left side resulted in a goal for the visitors, as
A. Kefalas anticipated the through ball and scored, reducing the deficit to 4 - 2.
D. Meiser increased the lead for Stars to 5 - 2, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
Yanico enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.
Stars's top performer was clearly
H. Ifrid.
L. Talas was a disappointment, however.
V. Ambauen performed admirably for Yanico.
I. Bigler on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 5 - 2.
