18-08-2012 17.00
14812 spectators had come to
DiabolicRockets Arena this cloudy day.
Aulis Fabritius was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Sjoerd Bos and
Ricardo Mil.
All of
Bern was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby.
DiabolicRockets had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation.
The following players took the field: Gvili - Willhoff, Möller-Callsen, Nucaro, Pompeia - Bauder, Prohaska, Joron - Orellana, Soechst-Kugler, Komačka.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Nitrasoccers.
Lineup: Manenti - Krauss, Munoz, Fausch - Kling-Spötzl, Hirt, Neuenschwander, Urbina Arce, Boehm - Wohlers, De Vlieger.
P. Hirt's lack of experience almost gave DiabolicRockets a goal after 15 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms.
Nitrasoccers's
L. Urbina Arce got himself booked for a foul.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
N. Krauss from Nitrasoccers a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 27 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Slack defending gave DiabolicRockets a chance to take the lead with 31 minutes played, but
D. Möller-Callsen's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition.
DiabolicRockets took the lead 34 minutes in, as
M. Prohaska broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper.
Cheers filled the stadium as
B. Willhoff broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to DiabolicRockets.
Halftime score was 2 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by DiabolicRockets, with 51 percent of the ball.
The Nitrasoccers free kick 49 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
B. Boehm, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 2 - 1!
DiabolicRockets's
R. Soechst-Kugler refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 57 minutes.
After 72 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after
B. Boehm made it through the middle and struck home to make it 2 - 2.
DiabolicRockets fans held their breath as
D. Möller-Callsen scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 3 - 2!
R. Kling-Spötzl of Nitrasoccers was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
The visitors'
J. De Vlieger was alert after a cross coming in from the left, levelling the score at 3 - 3 after 85 minutes.
Possession in this half belonged to DiabolicRockets, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.
Most important DiabolicRockets player was
Č. Komačka.
On the other hand,
O. Pompeia's play was disheartening.
Nitrasoccers's best player was
L. Urbina Arce.
B. Boehm turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 3 - 3.
