Westside 3 - 1 Paradise
(385010468)

14-07-2012 17.00
Due to an all-day shower, 25698 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
L.A.X..
Vasile Preda was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bartosz Bubel and
Arjen van Kregten.
Westside had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
They fielded: Derka - Camenisch, Aslak, Yahaya - Németh, Böcz, Elfenrain, Adamson, Franek - Vaurula, Ratilainen.
Paradise tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Lineup: Razzante - Madsen, Viachorka, Warta - Merle, Netzle, Mennessier, Queirós, Klamm - Pullinen, Elizondo.
The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when
M. Warta was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 13 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead!
Down the middle came
C. Elizondo, making a fantastic play that nearly had Paradise take the lead after 23 minutes, but
Š. Derka preserved the tie.
M. Franek didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain.
Westside took the lead after 38 minutes as a result of
K. Ratilainen's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0.
C. Aslak had a hard time on the waterlogged pitch - his trademark technique was nowhere in sight today.
Westside put themselves up 2 - 0 when
M. Franek broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
By now, the players in Westside felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
Halftime score was 2 - 0.
Westside claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.
After 66 minutes, Paradise sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
I. Netzle, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 2 - 1.
After 82 minutes,
Á. Németh put Westside ahead 3 - 1 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
Possession in this half belonged to Westside, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.
Westside's best player was
A. Yahaya.
On the other hand,
Š. Derka's play was disheartening.
M. Viachorka performed admirably for Paradise.
C. Elizondo was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 1.
