Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 12000 at Golgotha today. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Borussia. G. Mecenero caught everyone by surprise with a unexpected volley after 10 minutes. H. Kögeler was perfectly placed to take advantage of the play, but unfortunately, he was as surprised as anyone and couldn't finish for Borussia. G. Pöttinger knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 0 - 1 after 27 minutes. 30 minutes into the game, G. Mecenero had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came B. Fouquet. The crowd was on its feet 31 minutes into the match, as Ictus's J. Dietzel found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, N. Peel got himself booked. The manager of Borussia was not happy. It might be a while before the fans see Borussia's G. Pöttinger again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 39 minute mark. He was replaced by M. Ochsner. Borussia's N. Peel gave the visitors a 1 - 2 lead after 42 minutes with a superb strike from the right. 1 - 2 was the score after the first half. Ictus had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.

After 68 minutes of play, E. Schwengeler evened things up for Ictus with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 2 - 2. Ictus had to manage with a reduced squad after 74 minutes, as B. Dumitru got sent off for a needless foul away from the game's action. A foul after 75 minutes resulted in a free kick. J. Crnogorac cannonballed it, giving the home team the lead 3 - 2. With 81 minutes played, M. Furniss could have brought this one home for Ictus as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. 82 minutes into the match J. Crnogorac put Ictus ahead 4 - 2 with a truly marvelous free kick. Possession in this half belonged to Ictus, who controlled the ball 66 percent of the time.

Ictus's top performer was clearly M. Furniss. On the other hand, S. Bollard's play was disheartening. H. Kögeler performed admirably for Borussia. M. Ochsner turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 4 - 2.
