The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 0. Ankh-Morpork had most of the ball, with 68 percent of possession.

Cheers filled the stadium as B. Cappelli broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 5 - 0 to Ankh-Morpork. Ankh-Morpork managed to extend their lead to 6 - 0 when T. Bolli cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. T. Bolli unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. Ankh-Morpork's M. Vránek struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 7 - 0 after 79 minutes. 80 minutes into the match M. Vránek put Ankh-Morpork ahead 8 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick. That made three goals for M. Vránek and he was marked down for the hat trick.
