(385119427)

16-06-2012 17.45
It had rained all day, but 4869 hardy fans still made it out to
Stade Saint-Martin.
Andrzej Konowalski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Hamish MacIldowie and
Bep Euverman.
Leytron decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Lineup: Ristić - Juřica, Czapnik, Benintende - Grünenfelder, Simula, Ionel, Scalmazzi, Menashe - Lagrone, Kowalski.
Gustav had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Wideröe - Wiesner, Pennetier, Nahrgang, Deplazes - Rothschild, Mast, Eckenstein, Chemello - Spirig, Kerstetter.
Leytron fans held their breath as
K. Czapnik scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0!
C. Eckenstein did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch.
A. Scalmazzi increased the lead for Leytron to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
The players of Leytron now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
The score became 3 - 0 at 20 minutes into the game, when Leytron were given a penalty which
J. Benintende blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance!
E. Grünenfelder had a fantastic opportunity to put Leytron up another goal 34 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Leytron's
E. Grünenfelder somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
D. Kowalski, who struck for 4 - 0.
With 41 minutes played, Leytron put themselves up 5 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
K. Czapnik, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
It was 5 - 0 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Leytron, with 77 percent of the ball.
With 53 minutes played, Leytron's
K. Czapnik almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
Leytron's
J. Benintende struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 6 - 0 after 58 minutes.
J. Benintende increased Leytron's lead to 7 - 0 with a penalty spot cannonball.
This third goal completed a hattrick for
J. Benintende.
P. Spirig of Gustav received a yellow card after 61 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Cheers filled the stadium as
K. Czapnik broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 8 - 0 to Leytron.
At that,
K. Czapnik was noted down for a hat trick!
80 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
E. Grünenfelder broke through, making the score 9 - 0 for Leytron.
Leytron enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 78 percent of possession.
Leytron's best player was
D. Kowalski.
However,
V. Ristić made a disastrous appearance.
The most dominating Gustav player was without a doubt
S. Rothschild.
H. Wideröe on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 9 - 0.
