25-08-2012 20.00
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 65657 that came out to
The Hot Spot.
Rodrigo Lopes Barros was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ulferd Türk and
Pau Alorda.
A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for HotStreak.
The following players took the field: Arce - Leclerc, Cipollone, Mpachramis, Matei - Bilon, Langenfelde, Turjeman, Bruna, Fraire - Woringer.
Palyo tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Lineup: Tempelhoff - Ulfsson, Ritamäki, Kuure, Ustups - Akerboom, Olgun, Esseni, Aloisi - Rudy, Marbœuf.
HotStreak clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
For their match strategy, Palyo had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
2 minutes into the game,
G. Olgun was a hair's breadth away from giving Palyo the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by
M. Arce saved the home team that time.
At 7 minutes played,
K. Turjeman came in from the right with the intention of giving HotStreak the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar.
11 minutes into the game,
J. Kuure had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide.
After a fine move down the middle
K. Turjeman nearly gave the home side a goal after 22 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
K. Turjeman enjoyed the sunshine and demonstrated his stunning technique over and over again.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
G. Woringer got himself booked. The manager of HotStreak was not happy.
After 36 minutes, the defensive line of Palyo created a counterattack through the middle that gave
C. Esseni a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
Halftime score was 0 - 0.
Palyo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
G. Fraire didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play.
64 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but
F. Marbœuf, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide.
Palyo's
G. Olgun gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 76 minutes with a superb strike from the right.
After 76 minutes, the Palyo players received new instructions from their manager on how to keep in control of the game.
83 minutes into the game HotStreak managed a counterattack, but
G. Woringer took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper.
Palyo had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.
HotStreak's top performer was clearly
F. Leclerc.
G. Fraire was a disappointment, however.
F. Marbœuf performed admirably for Palyo.
On the other hand,
J. Kuure's play was disheartening.
The match ends 0 - 1.
