Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 43711 at Stade de Mursu today. Sergio Garrido López was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Federico Hechenberger and Emmanuel Bailleux. EOM decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Koho - Franciško, Sovala, Vuorimäki - Kaskimäki, Vihiniemi, Alatalo, Siekkinen, Banerjee - Tuupanen, Mahlitz.

Ironcross had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Hosainoff - Calejo, Matos, Tallo - Carciofi, Näkkäläjärvi, Lehmikangas, Littu, Davenel - Zandberg, Boda.

EOM seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Ironcross's E. Zandberg got himself booked for a foul. Some great play up the middle by EOM led to a chance for A. Mahlitz to score after 26 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. A. Mahlitz was very close to giving EOM the lead with an ingenious free kick routine 28 minutes into the match, but the ball just grazed the bar. The visiting E. Zandberg was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 32 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave V. Lehmikangas from Ironcross a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 35 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to EOM, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

After 55 minutes of play, I. Siekkinen evened things up for EOM with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 1 - 1. EOM took the lead 60 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as I. Siekkinen elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. In an effort to secure the lead, EOM changed their tactic after 61 minutes. In the lead, EOM adjusted their style of play with 61 minutes gone. After 61 minutes, the EOM players received new instructions from their manager on how to keep in control of the game. Ironcross's E. Zandberg refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 64 minutes. Ironcross levelled the score after 65 minutes to make it 2 - 2, as E. Zandberg struck home after a fine midfield combination through the centre, which left him completely unmarked. 67 minutes into the match, Ironcross nearly took the lead, as Z. Boda broke through on the right. J. Koho made the save, however. After 69 minutes, Ironcross's V. Lehmikangas made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 2 - 3. After 69 minutes, EOM used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. The EOM players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by EOM, with 53 percent of the ball.

I. Siekkinen performed admirably for EOM. However, T. Kaskimäki made a disastrous appearance. Ironcross's best player was V. Lehmikangas. M. Carciofi turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 3.
