A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 29613 to Thunderdome Stadium. Dezyderiusz Rachubiński was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Bero Mannweiler and Marcelo Alperovich. WonderBoys tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Nummela - Härsilä, Salmenaho, Liimatta - Kantelinen, Hyttinen, Tolmunen, Pikkuaho, Miilunpalo - Paulig, Räsänen.

A 5-2-3 alignment was the formation of choice for FBS. Lineup: Chodakowski - Ben Ahmed, Jauhia, Van Leerberghe, Sunesson, Rubiralt - Plazina, Seye - Ruokangas, Stav, Carromba.

FBS were relying on their ability to counter-attack. A. Carromba was first to reach a ball launched long through the center from FBS's defence 13 minutes into the game. He managed to keep his cool and beat the goalkeeper to make the score 0 - 1. K. Miilunpalo charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for WonderBoys, but the shot went well wide of the goal. WonderBoys's J. Tolmunen made a successful breakthrough on the left after 22 minutes and should have levelled the score, but instead he clipped it over the bar. J. Liimatta's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to WonderBoys, who controlled the ball 82 percent of the time.

T. Pikkuaho was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for WonderBoys with a strike from the left, but L. Chodakowski managed to ward the shot off for a corner. A. Jauhia knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 0 - 2 after 55 minutes. The players of FBS now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. After 56 minutes, WonderBoys were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise. K. Salmenaho did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as J. Liimatta tried lifting the ball over keeper L. Chodakowski. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar. FBS were able to draw a foul with their counterattacks, but the shot from V. Plazina went into the arms of the keeper. After 67 minutes, FBS raised their score by one when V. Plazina's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by A. Carromba. 0 - 3. WonderBoys enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 82 percent of possession.

The most dominating WonderBoys player was without a doubt M. Paulig. J. Hyttinen on the other hand, had a terrible day. T. Stav performed admirably for FBS. K. Van Leerberghe turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 3.
