Bertta 2 - 1 FCLL (385482665)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 37071 had shown up at Wanha Bertta for the match. Vagn Larsen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sune Hasselmann and Arttu Haatanen. Bertta tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. Starters: Loikas - Tikkaoja, Palén, Pelo, Siponkoski - Valaguer, Ojala, Rytioja, Kämäräinen, Inselmann - Norolampi.

A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for FCLL. The following players took the field: Skogström - Marttonen, Valppu, Ojala - Rasi, Liukkonen, Hietamies, Metsäketo - Piippolainen, Tonteri, Vuohelainen.

FCLL decided to play creatively. The cannonball from 35 metres by I. Valppu of FCLL was an impressive sight, but didn't make it into the net. After 14 minutes FCLL's M. Skogström limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. Bertta broke through on the left 18 minutes into the game, with S. Pelo firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. Bertta managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when A. Norolampi cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. Possession was split evenly between the teams.

J. Metsäketo has acquired a talent for predicting the movements of the opposing defence over the years and this almost resulted in a goal 53 minutes into the match. FCLL needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 65 minutes J. Metsäketo made way for J. Hiissa. With 70 minutes played, the FCLL coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. A. Blomqvist came on, P. Hietamies had to leave the fray. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, I. Valppu took over the role of being the FCLL captain. Bertta's counterattacks created a good chance for J. Ojala on the right after 82 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar. V. Carlsson was called on to replace FCLL's S. Liukkonen after 84 minutes following a nasty collision. 85 minutes into the match, FCLL replied and reduced the lead to 2 - 1. V. Tonteri scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left. J. Siponkoski could have increased the lead after 86 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. The referee showed FCLL's K. Marttonen the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A. Norolampi of Bertta had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. A. Riissanen came in to finish the match. S. Pelo became the new Bertta captain. Bertta claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

Bertta's best player was T. Kämäräinen. On the other hand, B. Valaguer's play was disheartening. J. Rasi performed admirably for FCLL. I. Valppu on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 1.
