Pojat 3 - 3 FCLL (385482676)

Due to an all-day shower, 23544 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Viikinki Road. Tero Rantakaulio was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Bogdan Grigoraş and Jens Christian Skals. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Pojat. The following players took the field: Milunović - Geessink, Cammelbeeck, Danielsson - Debrul, Holmen, Madeddu, Ansems, Malmgren - Tognato, Piroddi.

FCLL tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. Lineup: Skogström - Carlsson, Valppu, Ojala - Rasi, Liukkonen, Hietamies, Metsäketo - Piippolainen, Tonteri, Raivio.

Pojat tried to focus their attacks down the middle. 28 minutes into the game, R. Malmgren had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came D. Viñe. With 33 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as K. Holmen flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. FCLL levelled the score after 34 minutes to make it 1 - 1, as T. Raivio struck home after a fine midfield combination through the centre, which left him completely unmarked. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave V. Carlsson from FCLL a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 35 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit I. Valppu just fine. Pojat were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. FCLL enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

54 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but I. Valppu, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. J. Cammelbeeck of Pojat received a yellow card after 62 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 64 minutes, the FCLL coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving J. Metsäketo off the field. J. Hiissa took his place. 65 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a FCLL substitution. K. Marttonen came on for I. Valppu. As the 70 minute mark approached, the FCLL coach decided it was time for a substitution. P. Hietamies reluctantly made way for A. Blomqvist on the pitch. The FCLL captaincy was handed to V. Carlsson. Pojat had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. They were singing the praises of K. Danielsson 72 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to Pojat. It was a bad day for the usually speedy S. Piroddi. The mud seemed to slow him down. T. Raivio finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 2 - 2 76 minutes into the match. J. Piippolainen earned a rousing chorus of cheers from his fans as he seemed to come out of nowhere after 81 minutes to intercept the ball and put it in the back of the net for FCLL. 2 - 3. With 84 minutes having been played, Pojat scored to make it 3 - 3. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but K. Holmen was marked down as the scorer. Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.

Pojat's best player was S. Piroddi. D. Viñe turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating FCLL player was without a doubt T. Raivio. On the other hand, J. Hiissa's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 3.
