previous 8/10 next 10/10  WBS 2 - 2 TeamRusakko (385487423)

Dark skies made the crowd of 46943 at Smithery a little nervous, but the rain held off. Jean-Michel Lefebvre was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Stanisław Ellwart and Robin Rodmo. WBS started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Palmroth - Daulne, Evangelista, Hansen - Augsberger, Wijffels, Wickerberg, Ahmed, Stefaniak - Mulazzani, Koot.

TeamRusakko decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Gallant - Pielczyk, Ciani, Ruskó - Anderson, Ylinen, Volotinen, Raivo, Byns - Gualandri, Scheraggi.

The terraces were silenced after 3 minutes when TeamRusakko's S. Scheraggi put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. 14 minutes into the match, J. Volotinen came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. A. Mulazzani was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, WBS's P. Wickerberg managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 1 - 1 The home keeper expected a move to the right, but M. Ruskó surprised him with a free kick aimed the other way 42 minutes into the match. 1 - 2 for TeamRusakko. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. WBS enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for WBS, but A. Mulazzani's shot went over the bar. With the crowd on their feet chanting wildly, some great moves down the right hand side after 65 minutes gave WBS a wonderful opportunity to level the score, and A. Mulazzani stepped up to the challenge. 2 - 2 TeamRusakko claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

WBS's top performer was clearly P. Wickerberg. However, R. Palmroth made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating TeamRusakko player was without a doubt J. Volotinen. Q. Ciani on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 2.
