(385487431)

14-07-2012 20.00
29500 fans braved the pouring rain at
Smithery.
Cristiano Bulgarelli was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Mårten Björkerberg and
Alejandrino Ravettino.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for WBS.
The following players took the field: Palmroth - Daulne, Hansen, Evangelista - Augsberger, Wijffels, Wickerberg, Ahmed, Stefaniak - Mulazzani, Koot.
Nandit tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.
They fielded: Blitek - Zuffada, Meijlink, Nikinoja, Voss - Gunneweg, Ruokola, Ferretti, Sulkupuro, Merviö - Vilmi.
After 23 minutes,
D. Wijffels came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving WBS the lead.
WBS's
L. Hansen was shown a yellow card after 40 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
In a fantastic display of determination, Nandit's
G. Meijlink forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down.
WBS's
B. Augsberger swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
Halftime score was 1 - 0.
WBS enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.
With 50 minutes gone,
E. Ferretti suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by Nandit caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring.
With 60 minutes played, the Nandit coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
S. Jäkkö came on,
W. Vilmi had to leave the fray.
After 74 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
B. Stefaniak gave the WBS supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0.
The referee showed WBS's
S. Ahmed the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Unfortunately for Nandit,
O. Nikinoja was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field.
M. Toppala replaced him.
R. Palmroth made a brilliant save 83 minutes into the match, blocking a rocket of a shot from
S. Ruokola on the right hand side.
Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.
WBS's top performer was clearly
A. Mulazzani.
B. Koot on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating Nandit player was without a doubt
L. Zuffada.
M. Toppala was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 2 - 0.
