Kalmot 1 - 9 Notredamin (385517278)

12000 spectators arrived at Kalmansuon Pyhättö, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Reno Schellenberg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Tudor Bãdoiu and Bernard Banacki. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Kalmot. Notredamin started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Islas - Bou, Balash, Tarazona - Karvala, Drielinger, Basoco, Jensen, Post - Boekhoff, Lienhart.

Notredamin clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. With 3 minutes played, the excellent ball from the wing by Notredamin's M. Karvala reached S. Lienhart's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 0 - 1. After 4 minutes, Notredamin's G. Boekhoff surprised everyone as he managed to intercept a pass intended for the opposing keeper and flip it in, making the score 0 - 2. The visitors' J. Tarazona took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 17 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Notredamin. H. Jensen of Notredamin took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 18 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 4. A drive down the left side allowed A. Post to get in close and score another goal for Notredamin after 29 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 5. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Notredamin lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. With 33 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed S. Lienhart of Notredamin to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 6. A. Kiiliäinen's lightning pace was too much for J. Bou who could only look on as the Kalmot player blasted one home. 1 - 6. After 37 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for J. Tarazona who increased Notredamin's lead to 1 - 7. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 7. Notredamin had most of the ball, with 85 percent of possession.

Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Notredamin, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. Notredamin were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. After 69 minutes, Notredamin's A. Post burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 8. 70 minutes into the game, Notredamin worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. After 71 minutes of game time, H. Jensen had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but R. Piilonen was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. S. Lienhart increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 9. At that, S. Lienhart was noted down for a hat trick! Possession in this half belonged to Notredamin, who controlled the ball 86 percent of the time.

The most dominating Kalmot player was without a doubt T. Kononov. R. Piilonen on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Notredamin player was S. Lienhart. A. Islas was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 9.
