41662 punters turned up at Vanhakylä Stadion, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Busquier has the ability of doing what no one expects him to do was shown as he ran over an opposing defender, snatched the ball and passed to H. Haaksiluoto who hit it hard into the wide open goal after 11 minutes: 0 - 1! The crowd was on its feet 13 minutes into the match, as Hongiston's P. Dimitrov found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Jeppis, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. The guests almost went up by a goal after 16 minutes when H. Haaksiluoto came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. Hongiston had a good opportunity to take the lead as C. Radin came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of S. Guarneri. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 24 minutes into the match, and E. Ikäläinen wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 1 - 2 for the visitors. With the crowd on their feet chanting wildly, some great moves down the right hand side after 28 minutes gave Hongiston a wonderful opportunity to level the score, and T. Aharonov stepped up to the challenge. 2 - 2 Jeppis's Ľ. Borák managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 39 minutes. 2 - 3. Halftime score was 2 - 3. Jeppis had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

Jeppis's J. Dijkman was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 59 minutes. L. Alikirri of Jeppis was able to make an impressive rush past the sluggish N. Spenninger, which resulted in a goal making the score 2 - 4. A drive down the left side allowed H. Haaksiluoto to get in close and score another goal for Jeppis after 68 minutes, taking the score to 2 - 5. Confident in their lead, Jeppis's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Hongiston's S. Anokić got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 3 - 5. Jeppis came close to extending their lead as F. Reilly delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 78 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. Hongiston's S. Anokić was shown a yellow card after 79 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Possession in this half belonged to Jeppis, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

Most important Hongiston player was I. Vranovský. N. Spenninger turned in a dismal performance, however. L. Alikirri performed admirably for Jeppis. F. Reilly was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 5.
