previous 7/10 next 9/10  ACF 3 - 2 ALTAVASTAAJAT (385535814)

31297 fans braved the pouring rain at FrustratioN Arena. Ante Šlafhauzer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gerrit-Jan de Grande and Felix Nimrodi. ACF tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Starters: Bendt - Garrido, Larsson, Panáček - Rimpilä, Bleser, Caetano, Polesello, Norolahti - bin Darus, Pajuelo.

ALTAVASTAAJAT started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Chioveanu - Fogh, Deblieck, Acella - Borberg, Marando, Ollilainen, Hummasti, Saren - Oosterling, Soldati.

M. Bleser was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. After 11 minutes, M. bin Darus came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving ACF the lead. The home side's B. Larsson came close to extending the lead 25 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but R. Chioveanu managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. ALTAVASTAAJAT levelled the score after 28 minutes to make it 1 - 1, as K. Hummasti struck home after a fine midfield combination through the centre, which left him completely unmarked. After 29 minutes, ALTAVASTAAJAT put themselves up 1 - 2, as A. Acella finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. ALTAVASTAAJAT had to manage with a reduced squad after 30 minutes, as C. Deblieck got sent off for a needless foul away from the game's action. A quick counter attack by ACF forced the opponent's defender to give away a freekick. I. Pajuelo was allowed to take it quickly by the referee, much to the dismay of the goalkeeper who wasn't prepared. 2 - 2! It was 2 - 2 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by ALTAVASTAAJAT, with 52 percent of the ball.

ACF's J. Rimpilä tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. ACF's Ó. Garrido refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 74 minutes. M. Sandberg was called on to replace ACF's I. Pajuelo after 78 minutes following a nasty collision. M. bin Darus gave ACF the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 3 - 2 ALTAVASTAAJAT claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

The most dominating ACF player was without a doubt M. bin Darus. J. Caetano on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important ALTAVASTAAJAT player was H. Ollilainen. On the other hand, C. Saren's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 2.
