previous 1/10 next 3/10  ACF 0 - 3 Zetori (385535824)

The 38667 fans in attendance at FrustratioN Arena were roasting in the hot sun. Bjørn Buran was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Tal Sharabi and Matías Jesús Klarreich. ACF decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Bendt - Garrido, Karhapää, Panáček - Sandberg, Bleser, Caetano, Polesello, Norolahti - bin Darus, Pajuelo.

Zetori tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Morete - Hanratty, Medina Paz, Välilä, Tyni - Forbes, Babthorpe, Oppenheim, Maeran - Gijgink, Mustaniemi.

Zetori's D. Hanratty gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 6 minutes with a superb strike from the right. After 12 minutes, following yet another great corner, M. Karhapää's flick on at the near post reached R. Norolahti, who was just wide with his snapshot - the ball went out for a goal kick. The home crowd cheered when, after 16 minutes, K. Babthorpe's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area with a goal nearly scored by J. Maeran. At last, Zetori's K. Babthorpe was able to backheel the ball in. 0 - 2. ACF's Ó. Garrido got himself booked for a foul. Unfortunately for Zetori, H. Gijgink was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. L. Siekkeli replaced him. Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile R. Norolahti. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Zetori claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

With 54 minutes played, Zetori put themselves up 0 - 3 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was W. Oppenheim. Confident in their lead, Zetori's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when Z. Panáček tried to sneak the ball past the keeper. E. Morete was too alert for that! Possession in this half belonged to Zetori, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

The most dominating ACF player was without a doubt M. Bleser. M. Sandberg turned in a dismal performance, however. K. Babthorpe performed admirably for Zetori. R. Välilä was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 3.
