Clouds darkened the skies at Kaitalahti Memorial as 46343 spectators turned up for the match. Today, Kumianpään's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. Kumianpään's J. Moilasheimo got himself booked for a foul. 11 minutes into the game, Blackliver had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to inadequate. Kumianpään had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. Kumianpään had a chance to take the lead after R. Seitsonen's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 20 minutes. After 26 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Blackliver found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. 0 - 0 was the halftime score. Kumianpään claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

A review of the gameplan helped Blackliver get back to a solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. Kumianpään were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, J. Rajahalme scored for Kumianpään putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 53 minutes. 61 minutes in, Blackliver appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only weak. Kumianpään's R. Seitsonen startled J. Moilasheimo with an unexpected pass. Unfortunately, the receiver was too stunned by the play to convert the perfect setup into a goal. M. Hietala left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 70 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. J. Hannola was the replacement. J. Rajahalme wanted to play on, but the Kumianpään coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 70 minutes into the game by L. Korpimäki. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Kumianpään coach let V. Ahtila replace J. Moilasheimo after 75 minutes. The visitors refused to give in and, after 77 minutes, C. Waite evened things up as he finished off a perfect pass from the right. 1 - 1 Kumianpään had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

The most dominating Kumianpään player was without a doubt M. Kangasniemi. J. Hannola turned in a dismal performance, however. Blackliver's top performer was clearly S. Reponen. However, D. Artavia made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 1.
