Reisch's shot from the left sailed high over the bar. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Liedon, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

The bench was restless, and with 52 minutes passed nelssonin's coach gave A. Passalacqua the opportunity the player had been hoping for. D. van Hamburg reluctantly left the field. An equalising goal seemed certain after 67 minutes when V. Solano attacked down the left wing, but F. Simla just managed to make a save to keep the ball out of the net.
