Dark skies made the crowd of 12970 at Rovaniemen Keskuskenttä a little nervous, but the rain held off. ROU seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. It was an obvious ambition of Jakz to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. The guests took the lead 4 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in A. Kimanen scoring to make it 0 - 1. A. Hiirola received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 16 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. 25 minutes into the game, Jakz worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. Halftime score was 0 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Jakz, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

61 minutes into the game, R. Casas came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. With 68 minutes played, after a good run down the left, F. Hernández went down looking for a penalty after a challenge from the visitors' right fullback, but the referee waved play on, and later warned him for diving. ROU put pressure on the visitors' central defence 70 minutes into the game, but F. Hernández couldn't find an opening. Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for ROU, but N. Koppenhagen's shot went over the bar. After 73 minutes a very unfortunate collision in the penalty area led to ROU's F. Hernández being carried off the pitch and replaced by M. Viren. ROU had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

ROU's top performer was clearly M. Maśniak. On the other hand, R. Casas's play was disheartening. Jakz's best player was J. Cascasona. T. Aichen on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 1.
