12000 punters turned up at
Atletico Jyväskylä Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Saro Mobilia was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Marcus Everts and
Eduardo Pais.
Jyväskylä started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
They fielded: Paakkunainen - Pötsönen, Lindberg, Perätalo, Näre - Sipi, Pitkäranta, Töttö, Tuomala - Uura, Kangasmaa.
NorPS decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Laava - Vantaa, Kelkka, Znoev, Nikulin - Kansonen, Karlsson, Stepanoff, Maunu - Reimari, Valkeapää.
After 10 minutes, NorPS were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
M. Valkeapää did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
NorPS had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 31 minutes in when
J. Reimari came up alone against
J. Paakkunainen who managed a block.
Jyväskylä played a good counterattacking move down the left 32 minutes into the match, with
K. Pötsönen finishing well for 1 - 0.
J. Reimari made a good effort at breaking through on the right, but the home team's left defence cleared the ball to a corner.
M. Valkeapää's speed was clear to see after 35 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released
J. Reimari who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 1 - 1.
S. Uura gave Jyväskylä the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 2 - 1
2 - 1 was the halftime score.
Possession in this half belonged to Jyväskylä, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
Jyväskylä managed to extend their lead to 3 - 1 when
L. Sipi cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
After 63 minutes, the defensive line of NorPS created a counterattack through the middle that gave
M. Valkeapää a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
70 minutes into the game, NorPS's attack got through on the right, but
M. Stepanoff couldn't handle the ball and his feeble kick wound up in the keeper's arms.
The crowd roared its approval when
J. Paakkunainen somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by NorPS's
J. Reimari 73 minutes into the game.
Jyväskylä enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.
Jyväskylä's top performer was clearly
S. Uura.
J. Paakkunainen turned in a dismal performance, however.
Most important NorPS player was
M. Stepanoff.
E. Laava was a disappointment, however.
