Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 31902 to ENISE Stadium. Péter Szűcs was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Eloy Rosales and Remko Sprangers. Sardine tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. They fielded: Decombe - Marone, Da Cruz, Fadhel, Lecas - Lemaître, Briniss, Pelé, Perronnet - Piazza, Clarisse.

BuendiaFC started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. Lineup: Jean - Ankjær, Guidoux - Roméro, Martel, Punkanen, Ferrer, Bjurs - Dogana, Bundtzen, Fardeau.

After 2 minutes, BuendiaFC's C. Bjurs made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. A drive down the left side allowed J. Punkanen to get in close and score another goal for BuendiaFC after 6 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. After 17 minutes, BuendiaFC's A. Fardeau burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. J. Da Cruz behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 24 minutes as he gave the ball away to F. Dogana. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. With 32 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed A. Fardeau of BuendiaFC to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 4. At this point, it was obvious that the players of BuendiaFC lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. 0 - 4 was the halftime score. BuendiaFC enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 78 percent of possession.

Sardine's V. Piazza had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 74 minutes having been played. M. Lalanne was the replacement. C. Marone became the new Sardine captain. 75 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 5 as G. Bundtzen finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 76 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Sardine's M. Perronnet to one side and produced a red card for the player. The home crowd cheered when, after 77 minutes, J. Punkanen's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. After 80 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for J. Ferrer who increased BuendiaFC's lead to 0 - 6. C. Bjurs increased BuendiaFC's lead to 0 - 7 with a superb free kick strike that flew in just under the far top corner. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by BuendiaFC, with 83 percent of the ball.

J. Da Cruz performed admirably for Sardine. However, P. Decombe made a disastrous appearance. Most important BuendiaFC player was G. Bundtzen. A. Ankjær was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 7.
