DeuxZero 5 - 2 Saint-Lô (385858417)

The 48028 fans in attendance at Stade André Coté were roasting in the hot sun. Jorge Malo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Aaro Uski and Rafi Sufi. DeuxZero tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Meyer - Neau, Libaud, Jørgensen, Landrieux - Ferreira Cardoso, Ferreira, Cormier, Taskou - Louis, Beaufils.

Saint-Lô started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Ferment - Fouqueray, Foissy, Pausé - Reynard, Ferchichi, Belloy, Rouissi, Salles - Migeon, Barthel.

Saint-Lô took a creative approach on the field. DeuxZero took the lead 4 minutes in, as G. Louis broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. The DeuxZero players could smell victory in the air. A. Landrieux wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for A. Puel after 5 minutes. 8 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as A. Beaufils broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for DeuxZero. The score became 3 - 0 at 11 minutes into the game, when DeuxZero were given a penalty which A. Ferreira blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! The players of DeuxZero now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. 12 minutes into the match, Saint-Lô's D. Salles demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to J. Barthel who chipped it in for 3 - 1. The referee showed DeuxZero's S. Ferreira Cardoso the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile J. Barthel. DeuxZero solidified their lead at the 20 minute mark, as D. Libaud dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 1. A. Cormier could have increased the lead after 30 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. It was 4 - 1 at the break. DeuxZero had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

As usual, K. Jørgensen tried to use his strength and hard work for the benefit of the team, but the heat hit him hard and he couldn't keep pace at all. A. Cormier left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 75 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. G. Poulard was the replacement. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. A. Beaufils squirmed through their central defence after 77 minutes, increasing the lead to 5 - 1. The visitors' right side was dangerous today; J. Barthel made the home team's keeper look foolish as he easily reduced the lead to make it 5 - 2 78 minutes into the match. DeuxZero's G. Louis had an excellent opportunity after 79 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! DeuxZero enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

The most dominating DeuxZero player was without a doubt G. Louis. On the other hand, B. Neau's play was disheartening. Saint-Lô's best player was L. Migeon. J. Reynard was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 2.
