At this point, it was obvious that the players of RACING lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. R. Prantl sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from B. Boulbeba squirmed through their central defence after 44 minutes, increasing the lead to 6 - 0. It was 6 - 0 at the break. RACING enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

J. Bigot could have increased the lead after 64 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. With 68 minutes played, R. Balsby Thomsen had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal. Jambonneau reduced the lead after 81 minutes to 6 - 1 as J. Canellas easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave J. Veromaa from Jambonneau a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 88 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Possession in this half belonged to RACING, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

Most important RACING player was S. Nivoix. J. Wallen turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Jambonneau player was without a doubt N. Avrămescu. On the other hand, C. Comelles's play was disheartening. The match ends 6 - 1.
