A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 21881 to MTP F.C. Arena. Nadav Fridman was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Eduardo Motta Cifuentes and Guy Courtois. F.C. had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Chabal - Carotta, Dos Santos, Laronche - Bijlsma, Girsberger, Janczarek, Théophile, Calmels - Velut, Nenadić.

The corner kick from J. Pilegaard was powerfully met by the head of J. Holmström to make the score 0 - 1. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why G. Calmels found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. F.C.'s T. Girsberger put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 24 minutes, but the ball went wide. F.C. had to make a substitution after 37 minutes. E. Janczarek limped off the field and was replaced by L. Donat. It was 0 - 1 at the break. F.C. claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

Against a lesser team, remouillé could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 69 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. After the ball was lifted in from the left, J. Holmström was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 71 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for F.C., but W. Bijlsma's shot went over the bar. F.C.'s S. Nenadić was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 86 minutes. This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.

F.C.'s best player was B. Velut. However, G. Calmels made a disastrous appearance. Most important remouillé player was J. Holmström. J. Rujak was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 1.
