Dark skies made the crowd of 31580 at les bigarrons Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Kermantas Češas was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alfredo Mirete and Randy Berk. bigarrons clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. After a fine move down the middle A. Cavazza nearly gave the home side a goal after 9 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. After 11 minutes, D. Rizea sent the corner kick right to M. Grala who headed it sharply past the keeper. 0 - 1! A. Tuliaho got a fingertip on D. Rizea's shot from the left 12 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. I. Hojnik was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a bigarrons counterattack from the left after 13 minutes. His neat finish made the score 1 - 1. 32 minutes into the match and the home team took a 2 - 1 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for bigarrons was A. Cavazza. The bicycle kick from T. Pauchard would have been the Goal of the Year for bigarrons, had it not hit the post. A. Ramalho could have increased the lead after 41 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Ö. Eyþórsson should probably have put his team up another goal after 42 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by R. Korte kept the visitors in the game. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. bigarrons had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

81 minutes into the game RC's S. Najim found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 2 - 2. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, I. Hojnik scored for bigarrons putting them ahead 3 - 2, after 82 minutes. The visiting team's E. Olsson was able to score the 3 - 3 equaliser with a header 85 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right. bigarrons claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

bigarrons's best player was Ö. Eyþórsson. A. Tuliaho was a disappointment, however. M. Grala performed admirably for RC. On the other hand, R. Korte's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 3.
